My Story

Hey there! You’ve just landed in my colorful little corner of the internet. I am so glad that you are joining me on this journey of I don’t know exactly where it will be going. I have lots of thoughts but will see where it actually goes.
My first post I know I wanted to tell you who I am. As you have seen my name is Lori Wachter. But we all are more than just a name. We all wear many hats and juggle them at times too. I’m going to tell you about my favorite hats.
My first hat is I am a Christian. I believe and have seen God working bigger plans than I have imagined. When I am not on the right path he will make sure I get on His path, even if it’s a struggle or sad at the time. But as any true Christian, I am a sinner and I don’t always live a life like Jesus did. I try but I fall short many times a day.
My next hat is wife. This month my husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary! It hasn’t always been easy but it’s been fun—even if we have to wait for hindsight to see the humor in life’s adventures. If your marriage is easy—please share with everyone your secret!
One of my most important hats I wear is mother. I know not everyone gets to wear this hat for many different reasons. I thank God everyday for my two daughters. It took us 16 months to get pregnant with our 1st daughter, and only 3 months with our 2nd daughter. In hindsight, God knew I would have friends who would need my listening ear while they struggle to get pregnant. While it wasn’t easy to go through, I’m now grateful for the way it helped me become a more compassionate listener and friend. Anyway—my daughters are 20 and 19 now. Both in college and making my husband and I proud of who they are and becoming to be.
And of course, I am a daughter to my parents. I am the third born out of four and the only daughter. I was raised on a farm. Mostly a crop farm of corn and soybeans. But we had some cattle and pigs, chickens and one year I talked them into ducks. I was a 4-H kid until I got to high school. Then life changed as my parents divorced and I moved to town with my mom and brothers. I enjoyed 4-H and was grateful I was able to have my daughters participate in it too.
Now that daughter hat has turned slightly into parent of the parent hat. I’m just so thankful that everything worked out so my husband and I could move to be closer to all our parents. I didn’t realize the stress that I was having not being close to be there for my mom when she needed some help.
My second to last hat I’m going to share with you is crafter. I am not the type of creative person to start from scratch and create something. I need a pattern or idea to get me started. And I won’t veer from it to far either. LOL I like to scrapbook, make greeting cards, and quilt. Now with my scrapbooks I was busy making memories with my daughters the last 20 years so I am a bit behind… I am working on year 2008. And still making memories. I keep thinking someday I’ll catch up — when I get out of the toddler years and they are in school instead of at home with me being all cute.
The final role I’ll mention today is one that lets me shine in a different way—my work as an entrepreneur. I have worked for different direct selling companies; some of them where great for the season I was in and others being an entrepreneur wasn’t my focus at the time. But the past 5 years I have been consistent in my businesses. Long story short, I started these three for the discount and then it turned into sharing with friends and people I meet. Color Street, Creative Memories, and Plexus have added different aspects to my life that I truly cherish.
From faith and family to glitter and glue, this is me—living life in full color. I’m so glad you stopped by! If any part of my story made you smile, nod, or think “me too,” I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to drop a comment, send a message, or just come back soon—there’s plenty more color (and fun) to share!
Sparkle On,
Lori
